Serves 4-6.
Ingredients:
- 300g flour
- 180g butter
- 120g cherries
- 1/2 tin (397g) condensed milk
- 2 eggs
- 100ml water
- 10ml baking powder
- 5ml vanilla essence
- 2ml salt
Method:
Rub butter into sieved flour, salt and baking powder.
Add cherries, vanilla essence and eggs, and mix with the condensed milk and water.
Place mixture into a greased and lined loaf tin and bake in a moderate oven (190° C) for about 1 hour.
Sprinkle with icing sugar, then cool.
