This recipe was given to me by my room mate in the maternity clinic in Nancy, in the east of France. I have changed the quantities of the sugar and butter slightly. Made in a large cake tin, it's almost like an apple biscuit...
Ingredients:
- 150g flour
- 60g muscovado sugar
- 100g butter
- 3 apples
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder
- 1 t of vanilla essence
Method:
Butter a mould. Make caramel and coat the bottom of the mould. Beat the eggs, butter and sugar together until creamy. Add the flour then the baking powder. Mix well. Arrange the sliced apples on the caramel bed and then pour the mixture over. Bake at 180° C for about 30 minutes.
