Airfried Bhaji

Makes 10-12 bhajis.

 


 

Ingredients:
  • 2 red onions (1.5 if large)
  • 50g flour
  • 50g chickpea flour
  • 100ml cold water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 green chilli pepper
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t turmeric
  • 1/2 t coriander
  • 1/2 t cumin
  • 1/2 t cayenne powder
  • 1/2 t salt

Method:

Mix the flour, chickpea flour, spices and baking powder together, then add the water and stir to make a thick batter. Slice the onions, garlic and green chilli pepper finely, then add them into the batter and mix well. Let the mixture rest for 10min.

Line the airfryer with cooking oil. Form little patties with the batter and airfry them for 5-7min, turn them over and airfry for another 5-7min. Let them cool down on a paper towel before serving.



Airfried Garlic Bread

 Try making garlic bread in the airfryer for a fantastic result! And it is more energy efficient too.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 baguette
  • 5 or 6 cloves garlic
  • 50g butter
  • a bunch of parsley

Method:

Prepare the garlic bread and airfry in batches for 8min.

Airfried Croutons

These croutons are made in the airfryer with a tiny drizzle of oil. They are low-fat and wonderfully crispy. Can be kept for a month and added to soups and salads for a nice crunch ;)


Ingredients:

  • (stale) bread
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • paprika
  • parsley flakes
  • black pepper

Method:

Put everything in the machine and air-fry for 8-12min depending on the size of the pieces.


Airfried Hashbrowns

 Makes 12 hashbrowns.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 small or medium onion
  • 20g flour (optional)
  • 2 eggs
  • cooking oil

Method:

Shred the potatoes, parboil them and strain. Shred or finely chop the onion and put it in a mixing bowl with  the potatoes. Mix in the eggs and flour. Grease the air-fryer and form patties with the mixture. Air fry for 8-10min.
